Southake Community Recreation Center
Project Type: Plastering, Drywall, EIFS
General Contractor: Adolfson & Peterson
BakerTriangle had a chance to shine on this community center for the town of Southlake, a fast-growing suburb of Dallas. BT covered the interior and exterior with custom made products, many proved quite challenging to install, but in the end the owner, architect and builder were pleased with the installation process.
Drywall foreman, Kenneth Morse, was challenged with the numerous different applications detailed in the drywall scope. Not only were radius furr downs present in this design, but Kenneth also was challenged with the layout of the Armstrong linear ceilings that were in a wave pattern in the large multi-purpose room. Numerous light coves and arches were detailed throughout the facility.
Plaster foreman, Arthur Campbell, led a crew that installed beautiful venetian plaster on the interior walls, and numerous EIFS shapes and panels on the exterior walls. EIFS shapes consisted of copings, lintels, brackets, pilaster caps, sills, rakes, pilaster mid-bands and fascia bands. The owner and architect had many areas of metal panels changed to EIFS for savings on the overall budget.
