Bush Presidential Center

Dallas, Texas

Project Type: Plastering

General Contractor: Manhattan Construction

Located on the Southern Methodist University campus in Dallas, the 14,000 square foot museum has a full-sized Oval Office, Texas Rose Garden, and many other exhibits that reflect events during President Bush’s administration. BakerTriangle began interior finish work in October 2012 and used approximately 5,000 man hours to complete this project in April of 2013. The architects utilized over 11,000 square feet of USG Veneer Gypsum Plaster and 22,000 square feet of BASWAphon acoustical plaster throughout the library and museum. The BASWAphon acoustical plaster system is relatively new and interfacing with other systems presented a few challenges.  The greatest challenge we faced would be creating the Presidential Seal in the oval office ceiling.  Through many hours in meetings a great effort from the design and construction team, we were able to overcome to produce a high quality building that will become a part of history.
